I’m proud to announce the release of my newest historical novel, Big Red One, book 4: World War I, a deeply personal and immersive story set during America’s entry into World War I.
The year is 1917. While the world is already engulfed in chaos, the United States takes its first full steps into the Great War. Amid the clamor of politics and preparation, a group of soldiers is formed, the First Infantry Division. Before they became a legend, they were simply men in uniform, facing an uncertain future on foreign soil.
At the center of this story is Captain Thomas Anders, a veteran of a previous war who finds himself called back into service. He’s older now. Wiser. He has a family. But what he brings with him, experience, leadership, and the quiet burden of having seen battle before, will shape the men around him in ways they never expected.
This novel captures not just the military preparation and tension of a country on the brink of global warfare, but the human moments in between. It is a story of duty, legacy, and the fragile connections that make war both unbearable and unforgettable.
This novel stands alone but also continues the spirit of the series that began in earlier conflicts. Readers familiar with the formation of the Big Red One will recognize the echoes of the past, and the foreshadowing of what’s to come.
